Abstract

Objective To study the safety and efficacy of SLIPATM laryngeal mask in disaster medical aid. Methods Eighty patients were randomized into two groups, laryngeal mask group (group A) and endotracheal intubation group (group B).The safety and efficacy of SLIPATM laryngeal mask，SpO₂，P_ETCO₂,Vt, Ppeak and complication of inserting laryngeal mask or tracheal tube were recorded. Results The successful rate was 98%, in which the easy insertion was 95.0%.Ppeakin group A was higher than that in group B at T4（P＜0.05）.Only 5 patients in group A complained of sore throat, and 4 masks were stained with blood.The incidence of restlessness before or after extubation was significantly lower in group A than that in group B（P＜0.01）.Conclusions There is no significant difference in ventilation between patients with and endotracheal intubation. SLIPATM laryngeal mask is safe and efficient in disaster medical aid.
