Abstract

Objective To study the effect of intensive exercise on serum testosterone and cortisone in military parade troops from the Armed Police Forces. Method Thirty-four subjects in the military parade troops were recruited for this study as high-intensity exercise group while 26 subjects in other troops who received routine exercise served as control group. The participants underwent a thorough physical examination. Blood concentrations of testosterone and cortisone were determined by chemiluminescent immunoassay. Results The level of plasma testosterone in high-intensive exercise group was lower than in control group, (17.3?6.1) nmol/L vs (22?8.9) nmol/L, P
