Objective To observe phlegm obstruction and blood stasis on the observation the interventioning effect of Xiaotan Huayu Formula on blood lipids, hemorrheology, platelet aggregation rate, and average blood flow velocity of intracranial artery in patients with transient ischemic attack. Methods 64 patients with TIA meeting the conditions were recruited as observed objects, and according to the order of admission in hospital, and odd even, they were divided into study group and control group, 32 cases each. The two groups of patients’ age, sex, course of the disease, and indicators were observed without statistical significant difference (P>0.05). The study group that was treated on the basis of Western medicine as in the control group receiued Xiaoran Huayn Formula (eliminating phlegm and removing blood stasis). We observed two groups of patients, before and after treatment, blood lipids, hemorrheology, platelet aggregation rate,average intracranial artery blood flow velocity index changes. Results For blood fats, in the study group, serum total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) index was reduced significantly, high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) indicators were higher than in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). For hemorrheology and platelet aggregation rate, in the study group, whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, fibrinogen, platelet aggregation rate decreased significantly than in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In terms of average intracranial artery blood flow velocity, in the treatment group, average of intracranial artery blood flow velocity (Vm) was higher than in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Xiaotan Huayu Formula can significantly reduce the patients’ blood fat of TC, LDL-C level and increase HDL-C level, can significantly improve patient’s hemorrheology, decrease the rate of platelet aggregation, make higher average blood flow velocity of intracranial arteries.
