Abstract

Objective To investigate the prevalence and therapeutic effect of different types of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)caused by military training injury.Methods Sixty-eight cases of military servicemen with BPPV caused by military training injuries between February 2014 to February 2015 were recorded in detail, including the patients’ medical history, displacement experiments, treatment process and Results.Results According to statistics of the therapeutic effect collected immediately after treatment and during the follow-up of one week, one month, three months and six months, the effective rate of reduction after one treatment was 66.2%, and there was recurrence in 11 cases (16.2%). The total effective rate was 91.2%, with otolith legacy symptoms in 5 cases(7.4%).Conclusions The SRM- Ⅳ diagnostic system for vestibular function of servicemen can obviously improve the cure rate of BPPV, reduce the recurrence rate and symptoms of legacy. This system can be applied to different types of military training while guaranteeing the quality of service.
