Effects of MPZL1 on proliferation, migration and invasion of bladder cancer cells

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of myelin protein zero like 1 (MPZL1) on proliferation, migration and invasion of bladder cancer T24 cells. Methods The expression of MPZL1 in bladder cancer T24 cells was knocked down by siRNA transfection to form an experimental model of bladder cancer cells that inhibited the expression of MPZL1. The cells were divided into si-NC group and si-MPZL1 group. The expression of MPZL1 gene in bladder cancer patients in TCGA database was analyzed online through ualcan database. The changes of cell proliferation were detected by CCK-8 assay and plate cloning assay, and the changes of cell migration and invasion were detected by scratch assay and Transwell assay. Results The MPZL1 gene was highly expressed in patients with bladder cancer and the expression level showed an increasing trend with the progress of clinical stage. The high expression of MPZL1 gene was significantly correlated with the shortened survival time of bladder cancer. Inhibition of MPZL1 expression could effectively inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion of bladder cancer T24 cells. Conclusions Knocking down the expression of MPZL1 in bladder cancer T24 cells can inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion of bladder cancer cells.
