Objective To explore the prevalence, influencing factors, and impact of hair loss on life quality among active-duty military personnel, and to provide a basis for targeted intervention measures for hair loss. Methods A questionnaires survey was conducted on 151 military personnel in a unit to collect information on hair loss status, demographic characteristics, work stress, lifestyle, dietary habits, and other related factors. Descriptive analysis and binary logistic regression analysis were used to explore potential risk factors for hair loss. Results The prevalence of the hair loss was 34.4%. Multivariate logistic regression results showed that the military personnel who often stayed up late had a 6.649 times higher risk of hair loss compared to those with normal sleep patterns, those with a family history of hair loss had a 5.685 times higher risk than those without a genetic history, and longer periods of distress were associated with a higher risk of hair loss (OR=3.521,95%CI:2.393-5.181). Conclusions Frequent sleep deprivation, genetic history, and prolonged distress are independent risk factors for hair loss among military personnel.
